State Fair Recap: 2025 Wrap-Up Special Edition
And – like the snap of a fall twig, the 2025 fair season is over!
We hope you enjoyed your local County Fairs. 5 Guilds took advantage of the new WeGO Certificate of Achievement in Weaving to present to their local weaver. (Photos will be available soon.) A reminder that the entries your Guild members entered into this year’s county fairs are eligible to enter the 2026 Oregon State Fair. Plant the seed early.
Wrap up
This was the 45th year of Weaving Guilds of Oregon – WEGO at the Oregon State Fair! We organize the Fiber Arts Demonstration Booth and two of our Board members volunteer for the Creative Living Team to organize intake, judging, displays.
Some stats:
- The fair lasts 11 days
- 77 individuals demonstrated for a total of 1,090 hours
- Fiber Arts had 101 entries (down from 143 in 2024).
At the 2025 Oregon State Fair, daily demonstrators offered were:

- Salem Fiberarts Guild for providing demonstration looms and weaving demonstrators.
- Eugene Weavers Guild for providing weaving demonstrators on one day
- Damascus Fiber Art School provided tapestry weaving demonstrators on another day.
- Spinning:
- Aurora Colony Handspinners Guild provided the majority of spinners.
- Thanks to the OFFF social media team, we had 4 new-to-us spinners
- Make & Take: fun projects that kids and adults alike participated in. These projects were organized and provided by various individuals.

- Friendship bracelets (on a cardboard loom)

- Wet – felted Soap Bars
